Edward and Morgan have known each other for over 30 years, first as family friends, then as brothers in law, and eventually business partners. Prior to launching their partnership in 2012, Morgan was working in corporate finance in California and Edward was a practicing corporate attorney in London and New York — both had ambitious of owning and operating their own business and so they set off.
In 2015, after a short stint in the energy sector, Edward and Morgan acquired K-BOB’S from Edward’s father, who had owned and operated the chain since 1992. Having been exposed to K-BOB’S in various forms over the years, Edward and Morgan were true believers in the brand, the food, and the future.
With fresh capital to invest in K-BOB’S, Edward and Morgan set out to introduce the brand to a whole new generation of diners. They moved the headquarters to Houston, Texas and sought to re-tool and refresh the existing restaurants. They believed then and even more so today, that K-BOB’S at its core is a place where hand cut steaks and homemade comfort food, honest prices, and great atmosphere all come together.
“I have always envisioned K-BOB’S as a place I can take my wife Kelly on Friday night for a special occasion, and my parents for Sunday lunch after church.”
Upon opening their newest restaurant in Beaumont, Edward said, “I have always envisioned K-BOB’S as a place I can take my wife Kelly on Friday night for a special occasion, and my parents for Sunday lunch after church.” Morgan adds “I can bring my wife and two kids to K-BOB’S without breaking the bank. My wife and I have a salad, steak and a glass of wine, while my kids devour the Mac N’ Cheese and Chicken Strips.”
